Jim Nissen is a native of Webster Groves, MO, a St. Louis suburb. He and his wife Barb together for 44 years just relocated to Phoenix Arizona. The Nissen’s have a son Jim Jr., the founder and owner of Switch Studio, a graphic design firm in Tempe, Arizona. Their daughter Shelly, at the age of 31 lost her life after a 9 week battle to leukemia in December 1998.After high school and the US Army, Jim started his working career as a multi-state technician for the office equipment division of Bell & Howell Company. He later spearheaded a direct mail advertising firm in St. Louis. In 1973 Jim started what would be a 34 year career in the insurance industry. He started by building a growing multi-line insurance agency. In 1976 he began a 22 year leadership development role with responsibilities of recruiting, training, coaching and the personal development of individuals wanting to become entrepreneurs in the insurance industry. In 1998 and until March of 2007 Jim led a large multi-line insurance business St. Louis, Missouri. Jim now heads up Leadership Industries, Inc. based in Phoenix Arizona. Leadership Industries, Inc. is a company focused on providing systems, curriculum and solutions for personal and business growth. Success is Not a Concept…Success is the result of knowing where you want to go, and the changes you need to make to get there. The road to success becomes a lot smoother when you have the tools to develop the attitude of success. Jim additionally facilitates and coaches financial advisors in growing their practices. He has enjoyed many career activities. Some are a LUTCF, Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, an insurance industry designation, also a LUTC continuing education program facilitator and past LUTC Content and Technique board member in Washington, D.C. A twenty-four year company All American and Championship Life Diamond award Hall of Fame member. He served on the insurance industry National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Board and is past president of the St. Louis General Agents and Managers Association. A speaker, Toastmaster International CTM, general sales, leadership and entrepreneurial facilitator and life coach. He mentored seventh and eighth grade students at his church, is active in Promise Keeper and is the founder of the Bible 101 ministry and program. He served on the board of the West St. Louis County YMCA and a founding board member of the High Plains Division or the American Cancer Society where he also does leadership and volunteer training. Jim's hobbies and enjoyments in life include hiking (particularly in the Grand Canyon), public speaking, coaching, promoting his Bible 101 ministry, helping people grow and expand their potential and enjoyment in life. Jim's spiritual, personal and professional lives are guided by his personal mission statement - "To Humbly Serve and Willingly Share to make a Meaningful Difference!" |
